Jumpy

jumpy_icon  The current version of Jumpy is 1.2 and can be downloaded from the Android Market from your G1 or other Android device.

Interested in helping out my development effort?  Since this isn’t my full time job I have to rob time away from the rest of my life to development for the Android platform.  If you enjoy Jumpy you can let me know by donating a couple of bucks through PayPal.

Huge thanks in advance!

Jumpy is a classic peg game which is won by removing all but one of the pieces on the board.  A piece can only be moved by jumping another piece, where by, the jumped piece is removed.  When an orange piece is selected, valid moves are highlighted blue.  Select a highlighted location to move the piece.

Following are screen shots from Google’s Android emulator and further explanation on how the game is played.

Either the user or the computer picks the first peg which is removed from the game board.  To determine if the user or computer chooses the first peg to remove, open the Settings from the Android Menu button.  Let’s say that the top peg is selected to be the first one.  The user can now choose from the following pegs to move (note: the blue rings will not show up in the program).

When one is chosen, it is highlighted with a white halo and the top hole turns to a brighter blue to signal that the chosen peg can move there.

To move the selected peg to the hole, touch on the top hole.  This moves the original peg, and removes the one which was jumped.

The user continues to chose pegs and holes to clear the board until there are no more moves to be made.  In the following graphics the user has one more move left.

After the last move is made, the user is presented with the option to Redo the last board, or play a New one.

The next game board is then displayed on the screen and the user can play again.  I hope this helps those who have not played the game before.  Enjoy, and check back from time to time to see if any new features have been added, I do have a couple more ideas.  I also have other Android applications that I am currently writing, I hope you will also check those out when they are released.
